SO.

Shall we start with a thank you! For taking a minute to visit our blog and catch an update, and for your love and interest in general. Thank you!

We’ve been quiet for a bit, folks. It’s been an interesting year, 2012, and it’s brought forth lots of changes — we moved into a new (bigger!) studio, did some rad side projects with friends, and trial-and-errored our vision for all the tomorrows that are on the way. That being said, 2013 IS GOING TO BE REALLY AWESOME (Mayan predictions still pending). All those updates will come later on, because right now we have something more pressing to discuss:

THE HOLIDAYS ARE UPON US.

I (Beka) have a few things to say about this, touching on a few things we’ve learned this past year:

1. At some point this season, go see your family. See your friends. If you can’t see them, call them. Write them! There’s something to be said for showing up, and life is not a guarantee. GO LOVE YOUR LOVED ONES. Give hugs and high fives and hang out with Grandma for five extra minutes. Or actually call her instead of just talking about it. PEOPLE ARE NOT AROUND FOREVER. APPRECIATE THEM WHILE THEY ARE HERE. THIS IS REAL. 

2. Love strangers, too. Everyone’s fighting their own battles, and just because you think you know their story doesn’t mean you know the whole thing. BE KIND WHEN YOU DON’T WANT TO BE. <—- THIS IS A GAME CHANGER FOR ANGRY PEOPLE. And as many of us know, angry folks need extra helpings of love because they sure as hell didn’t start out that angry. Unwarranted kindness is a very powerful thing.

3. I’m willing to bet that the majority of you aren’t done buying presents yet. If you’re still on the hunt (or just starting your hunt), we’re going to post a few last minute goodies on the blog over the next two or three days. You can order via email (beka@louisegoods.com), and that will be reiterated when the photos go up. We’ll do everything we can to make sure packages get to their destinations in time to make it under the tree (if you do the tree thing — otherwise, we’ll do our best to accomodate your timeline!!!) and WE DO FREE GIFT WRAPPING TOO. !!!!

I think that’s enough info for now. We’ll give yinz guys some more info re: RYE & GRIT (those are our upcoming collections) shortly after Christmas.

Well it’s worth a mention that you’ve all been really patient about the release of RYE, our latest upcoming collection. We’ve been getting emails asking when it’s coming out, so: it’ll be out sometime within the next few weeks. Vague, right? Don’t worry, we’ll have lots of photos of the sampling process over the next few days to tickle your palate. I promise it’ll be worth the wait!!!!

What’s the vibe, you ask? Old school Americana with lots of aged brass hardware and hand-burnished edges. Something for everybody! Totes, backpacks, some SLGs (small leather goods) and a few briefcase/portfolios too. 12 pieces total, available in tan, walnut, and black. Available online and maybe in a boutique or two, but we haven’t nailed any of that down yet. Stay tuned, folks.
